Scenario Edge ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at scenarioedge.com and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our Service. By using Scenario Edge, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account information: email address and password when you create an account via Firebase Authentication.
  • Portfolio data: holdings you enter (tickers, quantities, purchase prices) to run scenario analyses.
  • Scenario inputs: custom macro assumptions and scenario details you create.
  • Payment information: billing details are processed directly by Stripe. We do not store your card number or full payment credentials.
  • Communications: messages you send to us at hello@scenarioedge.com.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and interaction events, collected via Google Analytics 4.
  • Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs.
  • Cookies: session cookies for authentication and analytics cookies. See Section 7 for details.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the Service including running AI-powered scenario analyses.
  • To manage your account, subscription, and billing via Stripe.
  • To send transactional emails (account confirmations, receipts) via SendGrid.
  • To respond to your support requests.
  • To analyse usage patterns and improve product features.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party processors who may handle your data on our behalf:

  • Firebase (Google): authentication and cloud database storage.
  • Stripe: subscription billing and payment processing.
  • SendGrid (Twilio): transactional email delivery.
  • Google Analytics 4: anonymised usage analytics.
  • Anthropic / OpenAI: AI model providers used to generate scenario analysis. Portfolio and scenario inputs may be sent to these providers to produce results. They are not used to train models on your data under our enterprise agreements.
  • Yahoo Finance: publicly available market price data.

Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and data processing agreements. We recommend reviewing those policies if you have concerns.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and saved scenarios for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format).

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and functional cookies for analytics. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings; note that this may affect some Service functionality. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies for third-party ad networks.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit and Firebase security rules for data at rest. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Scenario Edge is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
